The Conference of California
Historical Societies is an organization with the mission to
unify and strengthen the historical organizations throughout the state.
One of many programs is to recognize the youth that assist in this effort by
offering a "Young Historian" award. This award was presented to 24 Galt
students at the January meeting.

All seats were filled and additional chairs had to be brought in and placed
around the sides of the room. In total, these students have volunteered
about 2000 hours to projects. In our fund raisers during one year, our
students brought in over $2000.
